Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a highly reliable commutatorless motor by providing an auxiliary position sensor which senses the mechanically corresponding positions and switching the dually constituted sensors.
CONSTITUTION: A phase current flowing through commutatorless motor 107 is sensed by a current sensor 117. The fundamental voltage waveforms are sensed by a fundamental voltage waveform generator 109 from both the output signal of the current sensor 117 and the output signal of a transformer 118. The output signal sensed by second position sensors 117 to 119 and the output signal of a first position sensor 108 can be switched by a switch circuit 121, that is, when the second sensors 117 to 119 fail, switching is made to the first sensor 108. The signal from the first sensor 108 is selected by an analot-switching circuit by the use of the output signal from a starting-speed sensor 114. When a predetermined speed is reached, switching is made to the second sensor 130 for an accelerated operation. In this constitution, reliablity can be greatly improved.
