Abstract

PURPOSE:To minimize resistance at a joining section (or joint) by bringing a superconductive wire at an end surface near a joining surface side and joining the both end sections each other through the joining surface. CONSTITUTION:One surface of a stabilizing material 70 of a superconductive wire 20 is removed to its length-wise direction - namely, coiling direction - to such an extent as to expose its bare wire and it is soldered to a similarly manufactured superconductive wire 21 at a joining surface, so that a joining section 60 is completed. At this joining section, the superconductive wires 20 and 21 are joined in such a manner that they are overlapped. Or, the joining section may well be made by bending 30 - 100 cm of the joining section in unnoticeable manner so that current I becomes rectilinear. In this case, a joining surface 91 is to have a component along coiling direction. In this mechanism, as the joining surface 91 is soldered each other so that base wires 80 and 81, resistance and heat generation at the joining section 60 can be reduced. The resistance can be further reduced by increasing area of the joining surface. These advantages as a whole can serve the purpose of reducing heat generation at the joining section in the superconductive coil and consumption of cooling liquid.
