Abstract
PURPOSE:To dissolve and remove excessively deposited Al, by immersing hot Al dipped small parts such as screws into an acid soln. CONSTITUTION:Small parts 1 such as screws, bolts made of carbon steel or low alloy steel are dipped in molten Al to form Al plated layers 2 excellent in heat resistance, corrosion resistance on the surfaces thereof. Excessive Al 5 deposited in the bottom or groove of the screw fill the bottom or groove, causing functional disorder of the screw or bolt. Therefore, the screw or bolt is immersed into a mineral acid such as hydrochloric acid, or nitric acid, or an org. acid such as citric acid or oxalic acid in order to dissolve and remove the excessive Al 5 and to expose plated layer 2 of Fe-Al alloy. The plated layer is excellent in heat resistance and corrosion resistance, and its thickness is hardly increased more than needed, consequently no crack due to thermal stress is developed.
