Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce minimum spangle cost remarkably without use of crystallizing procese, by, in manufacture of an aq. phosphate soln. used as a minimum spangling agent which is sprayed to the surface of hot zinc dipped steel sheet, making the phosphate soln, directly from the raw material on a job site. CONSTITUTION:An aq. phosphate soln, as a minimum spangle agent, which is used in manufacture of minimum spangle hot zinc dipped steel sheet, is made directly from the raw materials at a site near the plating plant. As the raw materials, ammonia and phosphoric acid are used for making primary, secondary, and tertiary phosphates of ammonium, and sodium carbonate and phosphoric acid for primary, secondary, and tertiary phosphates of sodium. Because the aq. soln. is stored at an optimum temp. about 20 deg.C, it is manufactured in a concn. between a lower limit concn. 5% and an upper limit concn. which is 5% lower than the saturated concn. at 20 deg.C. The method makes it possible to exclude a crystallization process and a dissolution process for the crystal, and reduces manufacturing and labor costs remarkably.
