Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare mineral acid salts of protamino, e.g., an enzyme stabilizer or an activator, e.g., an antibiotic, simply and economically, by converting a protamine extract obtained from a milt of fish into its condevred phosphate, which is subjected to double decomposition by a highly concentrated inorganic salt.
CONSTITUTION: A protamine extracted liquid obtained from a milt of fish containing protamin is reacted with condensed phosphoric acid or its salt to make a slight soluble salt which is precipitated. This salt is then subjected to double decomposition by a highly concentrated inorganic salt to give earily a mineral acid salt of protamine. The conventional methods have fault in coverting the condensed phosphate of protamine into the mineral acid salt. An alkaline (earther ) salt of mineral acid may be used as the inorganic salt for double decomposition.
USE: Insulin pharmaceutical preparation having prolonged effectiveness consisting of a composite of insulin, a protamine parenteral solution of an antiheparin, biochemical separation, and medicines for purification.
