Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the closeness between a shield plate carrier and the plate in combination of own weight of the plate and inner pressure force of the exhaust gas by making the shield plate movable on the tip of the carrier in a vertical duct in the course of the exhaust duct.
CONSTITUTION: An upstream duct 21 and a downstream duct 22 are vertically connected through a duct 23 to form a combustion exhaust gas passage. A shield plate carrier 24 is provided at the connection hole between the vertical duct 23 and the downstream duct 22, and a flat-lid-shaped shield plate 25 is so arranged on the top thereof as to be free to get in contact therewith. Driven by a decelerator motor, a lift screw shaft 33 is rotated through a power transmission mechanism 36, a transmission shaft 35 and a gear device 34 to move a nut member 31, and with the vertical movement of a girder 30, the shield plate 25 is caused to move vertically through a shaft 28. In this manner, the shield plate carrier 24 can be opened or closed to shut off or communicate the upstream duct 21 and the downstream duct 22 thereby ensuring a high degree of closeness.
