Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a powder coating composition having excellent storage stability and crushability, and giving a coating film having smooth surface and excellent stainproofing characteristics, by compounding a specific unsaturated polyester with a radical generator.
CONSTITUTION: A coating composition composed of (A) 100 parts by weight of a normally solid unsaturated polyester having 0.2W0.005 mole of unsaturated bond per 100g of the resin, and composed of (a) a dicarboxylic acid wherein 30W95 mol% is an aromatic dicarboxylic acid such as phthalic acid, etc., and (b) a glycol component wherein 0.1W20 mol% is 2,2-di(4-hydroxy-cyclohexyl)propane, (B) ≤5 parts pref. 0.01W5 parts of a radical generator such as methyl ethyl ketone peroxide, etc., and if necessary, (C) a flow controlling agent such as an acrylic copolymer, etc., a pigment such as titanium oxide, etc.
EFFECT: No fusion bonding and excellent powder fluidity.
