Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide a radius chamfering which is possible from outside regardless of the shape of the work thereby allowing application with a good shape and dimensional accuracy to either internal or external opening rim of small diameter holes. CONSTITUTION:A small diameter hole 9 is fomed on the work 8 with a drill or the like at a given position. The work 8 is connected to the anode and a tool electrode 12 to the cathode while the electrode 12 is inserted into the small diameter hole. Under such a condition, with an electrolyte interposed in the small diameter hole 9, a formation current and an electrolytic current for eleuting the anode are alternately energized between the work 8 and the electrode 12. While the inner wall surface 9a of the small diameter hole 9 is protected with a film at the intermediate section, a radius chamfering is gradually made at both internal and external open end rims 9A and 9B. The frequency of repeated energization determines the diameter of the radius surface.
