Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a power generating system in use of waves of water, which comprises one or more wave receiving plates depended onto the surface of the sea and connected via over-drive gears to crank shafts of piston pumps to produce compressed air for driving an air turbine, whereby it is enabled to obtain an economical power generating system.
CONSTITUTION: One or more wave receiving plates 1 curved in an arcuate form are placed in side-by-side relationship with each other along the beach, and they are connected to output shaft 3 via support rods 2 in the manner that they can be moved back and forth. Output shaft 3 is in turn connected to crank shafts 7 of respective piston pumps 6 via over-drive gears 5 with power transmitting mechanism 4. Piston 8 moved reciprocally by the crank shaft 7 is incorproated in cylinder 13 having inlet port 11 and outlet port 12. The inlet port 11 is connected to air intake pipe 14 for producing high-speed air flow in the pipe 14 along with rotation of crank shaft 7. By this high-speed air flow, air turbine 16 is turned and also generator 17 is caused to rotate. Thus, electric power can be produced efficiently by use of waves of sea water.
