Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a fluophor of highly efficient luminescence, comprising a divalent europium-actinated fluorivated halide fluophor of specific composition.
CONSTITUTION: (A) one or more sorts of divalent metal fluorides selected from BaF2, BeF2, MgF2, etc., (B) one or more sorts of compounds selected from divalent metal halides such as chlorides, bromides, and iodides of Ba, Be, Mg, etc., and ammouium halides such as NH4Cl, NH4Br, and NH4I, and (C) one or more sorts of Eu compounds selected from EuF2, Eu2O3, etc., are so mixed as to satisfy the composition formula (MII is Mg, Ca, Sr, Zn, or Cd, X is Cl, Br, or I; x, y, and a satisfy the following equations : 0<x≤0.5, 0≤y≤0.7, x+y<1, 0<a<5×10-2), and then held in a heat-resistant vessel to carry out calcination at 600W1,000°C for 1W10 hrs. in a reducing atmosphere, thus obtaining the objective fluophor.
