Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain the title material of rigidity and restoring potential, also having improved fixabiliby along with cushioning characteristics, by mixing scrap pulp, etc., in an expandable urethane composition, and stirring the mixture to expand.
CONSTITUTION: (A) as a base material, 100 parts by wt. of an expandable urethane composition and (B) as a filler, 10W300 parts by wt. of scrap pulp and/or wood fibers are mixed and stirred to carry out expansion, thereby effecting firm bonding of the filler in a homogeneously dispersed state in the base material matrix. The component A is an expandable urethane stock solution comprising a liquid consisting mainly of an isocyanate and the record liquid consisting chiefly of a polyether polyol and/or a polyester polyol. The equivalent ratio : active isocyanate/active hydrogen is 6/10W10/6. The component B is a fibrous material with each fiber length being 0.5W5mm and an apparent densiby being 0.01W0.1.
