Abstract

PURPOSE: To permit the continuous and effective increase of oxidating function by providing a number of rotary discs in waste water treatment tank and by adhering iron-oxidating bacteria to the discs.
CONSTITUTION: A number of discs 4 are rotatably provided at a reqular interval on the rotating axle 2 driven by the motor 3 in the oxidation tank 1 with semicylindrical bottom. In the oxidative treatment of waste water, waste water is continuously supplied into the inlet 5 of the oxidation tank 1 and then discharged from the exhaust port 6, during which iron-oxidating bacteria grows and adheres to the discs. When the discs 4 under the liquid in the tank 1 are rotated at a fixed speed, the waste water adhered to the lower half portion of the discs is subjected to oxidation by iron-oxidating bacteria and then sent to the surface of the liquid to be exposed to the air, whereby the oxidation is further accelerated and ferrous ion present in waste water is effectively oxidized.
