Abstract

PURPOSE: To highly accurately measure the contact by detecting the change in high frequency oscillations applied to a contact element thereby to control the feed drive of the element.
CONSTITUTION: A contact element 1 driven through a pulse motor 4 generates high frequency oscillations having a frequency of 5 to 10KHz and an amplitude of 0.15 to 10 microns through a high frequency oscillator 7, a bibrating element 6 and a horn 5. The vibrations are varied upon contact with an object 13 with the contact element 1 so that the drive of the motor 4 is controlled through a control circuit 10 by the detected value of the microphone which has its frequency and amplitude varied in accordance with the contact pressure. The number of drive pulses of the motor 4 and the movement of the contact element 1 by the rotations through an encoder are inidcated in an indicator 11 so that the contact measurements can be performed in high accuracy.
