Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve reliability, by working this air bag device positively and safely even in any sittation by jointly using an electric sensor, a starting means and a mechanical sensor and by forming these sensors and means so that they function in shapes that each become independent. CONSTITUTION:This device is formed in such a manner that inert gases in a high pressure gas vessel F are let a steering column G pass through a flow control E and supplied to a bag I mounted to a handle H to expand the bag by installing an electric front sensor B at the body side of a mounting base 2 of a bumper 1 of a front portion of a car A and by opening a mechanical valve opening gear D by operating a high speed solenoid C by the detection of impact not less than fixed value of the sensor B. Said mechanical valve opening gear D is manufactured so that it can be worked even by means of a mechanical sensor J and a starting means mounted to the sensor J. Said each portion material B, C, D, J is connected to a trouble display device L and a memory storage M through a trouble diagnosis device K.
