Abstract

PURPOSE: To make clear the characteristics of a piezoelectric oscillator at a fine level thereby to find out a defective oscillator by applying a DC voltage, which is automatically and continuously varied, to an oscillatory circuit.
CONSTITUTION: A power source 33, which is operative to supply a DC voltage to such an oscillator 32 as is operative to oscillator by a piezoelectric oscillator 31 to be measured, is a power source which has its voltage automatically raised or lowered relative to the time. A circuit 34 is a rectifying circuit for rectifying the output of the oscillator 32. If the power source 33 is gradually raised, when a voltage VO is reached, the oscillations are started to generate a voltage LV. If the power source 3 is further raised, the oscillations reach a steady condition. If the power source 33 is gradually lowered, the oscillations are interrupted at a voltage VS after having passed through the voltage VO. As a result, if the relationship between the output level LV and the voltage V is displayed in an X-Y recorder 35, the discrepancy between the voltages VO and VS is determined. Thus, the oscillator indicating a high non-linearity can be detected.
