Abstract

PURPOSE: To positionally align transfer material and photoreceptor readily and accurately with a simple constitution by providing a mesh screen having openings through which transfer corona discharge current is passable to a transfer material substrate and further disposing a transfer corona discharger and an adsorbing corona discharger.
CONSTITUTION: The drum-form substrate 19' of transfer material P of a transfer means 19 is one-integer (ths) the diameter of the outside circumference of a photosensitive drum 2 and rotates in the arrow direction in synchronization with the photosensitive drum 2. The circular cylindrical frame parts 191, 192 thereof are connected to an integral unit at the connecting parts 193. The outside surfaces of both frame parts 191, 192 to be put in contact with the transfer material are made of insulation type and a mesh screen 196 having openings so as to permit the passage of transfer corona discharge current is wound thereto. The transfer material P which is detained at one end by a tansfer material detaining part 20 is moved to the transfer position in contact with the photosensitive drum 2 while its shape and moving path are being defined by the substrate 19' and the corona discharge of an electrostatic adsorbing corona discharger 28. In the transfer position, the transfer material P is adsorbed to the drum 2 by the corona current from the corona discharger 27 through the openings of the screen 196, whereby it is subjected to transfer.
