Abstract
PURPOSE:To manufacture at good yield the granulated, reformed blast furnace slag useful as the material for facing the wall, by pouring at a specified flow rate the reformed blast furnace slag including the metal oxide over the disk being fast rotating at a specified speed. CONSTITUTION:As for the titled granulator, the disk 2 provided with the shaft 1 at the lower portion is installed so as to jut the shaft 1 out of the center of the inclined bottom of the cylinder 5 provided with upper and lower open mouths 3, 4. This disk 2 is shaped cone, round, etc., and its surface is provided with the radial convex stripes 2a. In such constitution, the reformed blast furnace slag being added with one kind or more of metal oxides (silica sand, soda ash, etc., for instance), is poured into the saucer installed above the disk 2, and the slag is poured down over the disk 2. Hereupon, the rotational speed of the disk 2 is held at 400-1600 r.p.m., and the pouring rate of the reformed blast furnace slag per 1cm<2> of the disk surface is held at 5-50kg/min. As a result, the reformed blast furnace slag of particle size 1-20mm can be manufactured at good yield.
