Abstract
PURPOSE: To operate a braking mechanism for a rolling stock and stop the latter automatically upon derailment by detecting a vibration imposed to the rolling stock due to accelerations in up-and-down directions and opening a valve.
CONSTITUTION: An acceleration detecting chamber A, a pilot valve chamber B and a main valve chamber C are provided in a main body 1. A vibration detectable member 5 is fixed to a valve member 7 in the chamber B at a predetermined distance from a vibratable member 2 in the detecting chamber A. A valve member 14 consisting of a weight member is provided in the amin valve chamber C and pressing force thereof against a valve seat 13 is set at a predetermined value by a resilient force of a spring 17. The chamber B is provided with an aperture 9 through which compressed air from a control valve for a rolling stock is supplied. When wheels are derailed and up-and-down accelerations are produced in the rolling stock, a vibrating body 3 is vibrated and the detecting member 5 is moved upwardly, and thereby, the valve member 14 is also pushed upwardly which discharges air, supplied to the aperture 9, through an aperture 19 to operate braking mechanisms for the wheels, and consequently, the wheels are stopped automatically.
