Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a beautiful printing on the surface of a rugged object by floating a thin film applied with a printing pattern on dilute aqueous solution of boric acid and then depressing the object to transfer which is placed thereon to sediment into the said solution.
CONSTITUTION: A thin film consisting of polyvinyl group resin, 300W3,000 in mean degree of polymerization and 50W97 in molar fraction, with a printing pattern applied thereon is floated on the surface of a dilute aqueous solution of boric acid or its salt, borax for example with its printed face upward. Next, a rugged object with grooves, projections or curves on the surface is placed on the thin film and depressed to sediment into the said solution. The printing pattern is then transferred onto the surface of the object by fluid pressure working thereat.
