Abstract

PURPOSE: To keep apart a plurality of strands from each other so that they may not stick to each other in winding them on a suitable means like tube, by providing a plurality of separating bars on a holder extending radially of the tube and thereby stretching the strands at different input angles to each other.
CONSTITUTION: A number of glass filaments 2 are drawn out of spinning furnace 1, and after applying binder to the filaments 2 by coating means 3, they are formed into a plurality of strands 5 by means of dividing shoe 4. Each strand 5 is passed on respective dividing bars 10 projected horizontally from holder 9 with suitable intervals and then they are led to strand guide 6' at different angles. The strand guide 6' is mounted on cam unit 8 and its upper groove is extended in the same direction as dividing shoe 4, so that all of the strands 5 are directed radially of tube 7 and wound on the tube 7 which is rotated while being reciprocally moved in the axial direction of the same.
