Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide the subject method comprising the steps of: automatically detecting a weld waveform, comparing the same with a reference waveform and producing as output the result of comparison as a hard copy, thereby to make it possible to detect as to whether the waveform is good or bad rapidly and accurately.
CONSTITUTION: A welding current flows through a waveform measuring reference resistor 6 at the time of welding. A voltage waveform generated is taken in a memory 7, where it is divided in a predetermined time unit, and successively A/D converted in a converter part 7A and stored in a memory part 7B. The waveform data thus stored are transferred to a microcomputer 8, where they are compared with stored reference waveform data. If the measured waveform is out of the standards, a typewriter 9 is operated to indicate the result on the hard copy. Since the operator discriminates the welding condition immediately, this method can achieve an excellent effect on the process control of mass production products.
