Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent a water level from being changed abruptly and carry out solid-liquid separation stably by providing an element for controlling the water to be treated from being flowed into a downward flow passage in a whirling stream within a head tank of a water treating apparatus.
CONSTITUTION: To an upper portion of a downward flow passage A, a head tank 4 having a diameter larger than that of said passage A is provided and, within the head tank 4, a member 16 for controlling the water flowed into said downward flow passage A in a whirled stream is provided. An upward flow passage B connected to a lower portion of the downward flow passage A is provided in such a condition that the upper portion thereof is opened and, from the upward flow passage B to the downward flow passage A, a pump passage C for pumping up water is provided so as to maintain the water level of the former higher than that of the latter. In this water treating apparatus, a cylinder body 15 for introducing the water to be treated of which a diameter is successively expanded to an upper end side is provided in communication with an upper end of an inner cylinder 1 forming the downward flow passage A within a head tank 4 where the member 16 is arranged.
