Abstract

PURPOSE: To manufacture tablets or compression molded granules which are disintegrated in water in a short time but have high hardness and resistance to disintegration and abrasion by a method in which an excipient for tablets or granules is used in place of a pressure injection lactose.
CONSTITUTION: In the manufacture of tablets or granules by compression molding, part of all the excipient is replaced by a pressure injection lactose in the beta-lactose state, obtained by a method in which alpha-lactose is mixed with 5W15% water and then injected at a high temperature and a high pressure by a pressure extruder and restored rapidly to ordinary pressure. The tablets or granules manufactured by this method have a high hardness and high resistance to disintegration but excellent decayability in water.
