Abstract
PURPOSE:To facilitate the processing of a rotor and further increase the cooling effect by deviating two stator cores provided in parallel in the axial direction at an electrical angle of 90 deg. and providing projected members of a massive signal-pole rotor at positions aligned in the axial direction. CONSTITUTION:Two stator cores 2a and 2b wound with three-phase armature windings 3a and 3b are provided in parallel at predetermined positions of the inner peripheral wall of a cylindrical frame 1 at 90 deg. in an electrical angle and at a specific interval in the axial direction. The projected members 6a and 6b of a single-pole rotor 5 comprising massive cores facing two stator cores 2a and 2b, respectively, are provided at positions coincident in the axial direction. A doughnut-shaped field coil 4 wound between the stator cores 2a and 2b is excited, and, at the same time, a current from an AC power source, having a suitable frequency, is supplied to the three-phase armature windings 3a and 3b thereby to rotate the single-pole rotor 5.
