Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable detection of unstable resonator due to oscillation leakage in several seconds by rectifying the oscillation output from the resonator through a full-wave rectifying circuit, then introducing one output through a peak detector circuit into a comparator circuit together with other output and detecting the variation amount of amplitude of the output.
CONSTITUTION: A crystal resonator 1 is mounted at an oscillator circuit 2, and power supply voltage 3 is supplied thereto to start oscillating of the oscillator circuit 2. The output f1 from the circuit 2 is applied to a full-wave rectifier circuit 4, which produces an output f2 in stable state and produces an output f3 in unstable state. When one output of the circuit 4 is applied to a peak detector circuit 5, the circuit 5 produces the same output f2 as normal oscillation time. When the output from the circuit 5 is applied to a comparator circuit 6 together with other output from the circuit 4, the circuit 6 can detect the presence or absence of variation amount of amplitude. When the power supply voltage 3 of the oscillator circuit is variable and the voltage is raised, the oscillated amplitude of the crystal resonator is increased to feasibly cause oscillation leakage. Accordingly, the oscillation leakage occurring time is shortened to increase the variation amount of the oscillation so as to readily detect it.
