Abstract
PURPOSE: To eliminate individual difference of read of the scale to make accurate measurement possible, by changing intensity of the magnetic field to return the float, which floats in a tube, to the position of flow rate zero when the float is displaced and by measuring the flow rate on a basis of current change at this time.
CONSTITUTION: A flow meter consists of tube path 1, float 2 made from magnetic materials, electromagnetic coil 3, current adjusting aquipment 5, flow rate indicator 6, and power source 4. In case that the weight of float 2 is larger than buoyancy, float 2 is static in the position of balance among float weight Fg, buoyancy Fb, and magnetic force Fm when no stream exists repulsively to the magnetic field generated by coil 3. When the stream of arrow A is generated, float 2 receives force Ff to move upward. When current adjusting equipment 5 is operated to cause force ΔF=Fm-Ff to act on float 2 while changing intensity of the magnetic field of coil 3, the float is returned to the position of flow rate zero. On a basis of a current required for generating this ΔF at this time, the flow rate is measured by indicator 6.
