Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a film excellent in adhesiveness, heat resistance, corrosion resistance, and wear resistance by a procedure in which a metal material is flame- coated with various metals or metal oxides, coated with an organic solvent suspension of comparatively low-melting metals or metal oxides, dried, and then subjected to a Cr or Al-diffusion treatment. CONSTITUTION:A metal material, e.g., an Ni-based alloy, is flame-coated with one or more of various metals, metal alloys, and metal oxides, and carbides, nitrides, borides, or silicides of metals or nonmetals, and then coated with an organic solvent suspension of one or more of comparatively low-melting metals or alloys, various metal oxides, and the carbides, nitrides, borides, or silicides of metals or nonmetals. Then, the metal material so treated is dried and then subjected to Cr or Al diffusion and penetration treatment for its surface film.
