Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the influence of the magnetic saturation of a core and prevent electromagnetic wave noises in shifting rotor coils into series or parallel connection, by coupling two kinds of rotor coils to separate commutators. CONSTITUTION:A first and a second rotor coils 10, 11 are wound in the slots of a rotor core 2. The ends of the rotor coils are connected to commutators 5, 6. A first and a second stator coils 12, 13 are provided in the slots of a stator core 3. When the moving contacts 15, 16 of a speed shifting switch 14 is laid as shown by full lines in Fig., a series circuit comprising the first rotor coil 10 and the first stator coil 12 is coupled in parallel with a series circuit comprising the second rotor coil 11 and a second stator coil 13. When the moving contacts 15, 16 are laid as shown by dotted lines in Fig., the rotor coils 10, 11 and the stator coils 12, 13 are all connected in series with one another.
