Abstract

PURPOSE: To control capacity with high accuracy and attain a high operation efficiency in a wide range of running condition, by converting the running state of a compressor into a basic state in terms of the humidity of sucked air.
CONSTITUTION: The flow rate, pressure and temperature of a compressor, which are its running state quantities, are detected by a flow meter 13, a pressure gauge 14 and a thermometer 15. The humidity of air sucked by the compressor 1 is detected by a hygrometer 16. A calculator 17 converts the running state of the compressor 1 into a basic state in terms of information on the humidity of the sucked air from the hygrometer 16 and information on the air temperature from the thermometer 15. The calculator computes a controlled quantity which corresponds to the basic state and is to perform high-accuracy capacity control or obtain the highest efficiency. A driver 18 for the compressor 1 modifies the angle of an inlet vane 11 depending on the controlled quantity.
