Abstract

PURPOSE:To prepare title resin, excellent in heat resistance and mechanical properties, and useful as an electrical insulating material, by the copolymerization of acrylonitrile, an acrylate, a methacrylate, an acrylamide and a specified organic acid. CONSTITUTION:(A) 30-80wt%, particularly 50-80wt%, of acrylonitrile, (B) 5-50wt%, particularly 3-30wt%, of an acrylate, (C) 5-50wt%, particularly 5-25wt%, of a methyacrylate, (D) 2-30wt%, particularly 5-20wt%, of an acrylamide, and (E) 2-20wt%, particularly 3-15wt%, of an organic acid such as (meth)acrylic acid or phthalic anhydride, having a polymerizable unsaturated bond, are copolymerized in the presence of a redox catalyst, at a temperature not higher than 100 deg.C, for 1-2hr.
