Abstract
PURPOSE:To give a convex crown to the rolled material, to prevent the meandering motion, and to improve the rolling efficiency, by detecting the pass-through of the strip tail from the former stand, and by giving the concave crown to the roll of the rolling stand. CONSTITUTION:The load cell or the rolled material detector of the No.3 stand in the former stage, detects the pass-through of the rolled material. Then, the setter 8 of the No.4 stand sets an oil pressure for the roll bender 91 so as to enlarge the strip crown. Hereby, the pressure of the decrease benders 101-104 is raised, and/or the pressure of the increase benders is lowered, and the rolls 3, 4, are given a concave crown, and the strip 1 is given a large convex crown. Next, the No.4 stand is stopped when the tail of the strip 1 passes over, and the oil pressure for the roll bender 91 is returned to the initial set point. Besides, it may be possible to detect the pass- through by the rolled material detector in front of the No.3 stand, and to input the detecting signal to the arithmetic unit 71 through the timer.
