Abstract
PURPOSE:To use inexpensive organic filter for the solid state image pickup device by sealing an optical opening glass of a package in which a solid state image pickup element is mounted through an In ring. CONSTITUTION:A CCD3 is mounted through an adhesive 2 on a ceramic package 11. Further, a color filter 6 is adhered with transparent adhesive. This filter 6 may be organic filter. Then, an In ring solderlessly bonded with an In 32 inside the metallic ring 31 is placed on a package 11, a circular face plate 33 becoming an optical window glass is placed thereon, pressurized to solderlessly press the package 11, the In ring and the plate 33 so as to form a solid state image pickup device. According to this structure, the plate 33 can be sealed at high temperature, and the organic filter can be accordingly used.
