Abstract
PURPOSE: To ensure a safety operation for shifting from pump-driving to phase- modification or power-generation by detecting the pump cut-off operation of a main machine and tripping the main machine after a time lag.
CONSTITUTION: For shifting to a phase-modifying operation, after a main valve 3 is fully closed, a bypass valve 5 is closed, and a state (a) is obtained to provide a pump cut-off operation. A casing pressure H1 is at the maximum, while a number of revolutions N is kept constant. When a feed valve 8 is opened to force air-supply, the water in a runner 1 is partly replaced by air, and the filling water is broken and lowered as far as a level A. Then, the pumping effect inside the runner 1 is lowered to provide a state (b). This state is detected by a water level detector 6, and the feed valve 8 is closed to provide a phase-operation state. At the pump cut- off operation, a rise of water temperature is calculated not to give any seizure or other troubles in a sealing part between a rotating and a stated part by the expansion of the rotating part, and a time limit of the cut-off operation is obtained for setting the timer at the limit thereof.
