Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase the reliability of operation, by detecting a failure, when the output current exceeds a given value, through the detection of it and the operation of photocoupler. CONSTITUTION:If the current value fed from a D/A converter 4 to a load 100 exceeds the maximum current at normal state and the voltage equal to a voltage drop produced across a resistor 10 exceeds the threshold value of a semiconductor switch 11, the switch 11 is ON. Thus, the output current flowing via the resistor 10 is changed over from the load 100 to the switch 11 and flows to a light emitting element 51. When this element 51 illuminates, a photodetector 52 is in conductive state and a failure in an analog output circuit can be informed to a computer 1 via a failure informing section 6.
