Abstract
PURPOSE: To control useless heat diffusion and plan energy saving by introducing combustion gas into a preheating furnace from a melting furnace or a holding furnace to preheat metal lumps to be reclaimed.
CONSTITUTION: Metal lumps 2 of dross-contg. zinc, lead or the like to be reclaimed are put in preheating furnace 1. By introducing combustion gas from the burner of melting furnace 3 into furnace 1 through duct 4 lumps 2 are preheated, and they are charged into furnace 3 in stages and melted. This molten metal is sucked from carrying pipe 5 with pump P1 and carried to holding furnaces 10, 11, 12 through carrying pipes 7, 8, 9, respectively. Carrying pipes 13, 14, 15 are then successively changed over to successively discharge the molten metal into a plurality of ingot cases 18 with common pump P2. By this method a high grade metal such as zinc free from dross, etc. is recovered. Combustion gas from furnaces 10, 11, 12 may be introduced into furnace 1.
