Abstract
PURPOSE: To allow alcohol to uniformly flow through each reactor by putting a hollow catalyst holding member in each alcohol inlet so that the inlet is not filled with catalyst and taking out a reformed gas from each outlet.
CONSTITUTION: Hollow cylindrical catalyst holding members 15 are put in coupled alcohol inlet pipes 8 of flat plate type reactors 4 laminated at predetermined intervals to form heating gas passes. By putting member 15 in each pipe 8 penetration of catalyst 7 into pipe 8 is controlled with member 15. Alcohol uniformly flows into each reactor 4 through member 15, and since member 15 is made of punching metal, wire net, lath plate or the like, very little pressure is lost when an alcohol stream supplied from alcohol supply inlet 10A passes through holes, meshes or the like of member 15.
