Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the flatness strength and mechanical strength of the electron emission surface and improve the thermal efficiency by installing a first sleeve consisting of hollow metal cylinder onto the die molding part and charging mixed powder into the first sleeve and pressing said mixed powder by a second sleeve with a punch. CONSTITUTION:The first sleeve 21 which has a high melting point and of which both ends are opened is installed in the molding part 26 of a die 25, and the knock- out 27 which has the outer diameter smaller than the inner diameter of the molding part 26 and larger than the outer diamter of the sleeve 21 is installed under the sleeve 21. After mixed powder 24 is charged into the inside space of the sleeve 21, the second sleeve 22 having the outer diameter smaller than the inner diameter of the sleeve 21 is inserted into the inside space of the first sleeve, in the state pressed into a punch 23, and then the powder 24 is pressed and molded. After that, the second sleeve 22 is left inside the first sleeve 21, and only the punch 23 is drawn out from the sleeve 21. Thus, the cathode body having superior flat sintering strength and mechanical strength and superior thermal efficiency can be obtained.
