Abstract

PURPOSE:To make a magnetic storage device no-maintenance and long-life with a simple constitution, by providing constrictions between the magnetic storage medium room and external air as well as a moisture absorrbent vessel. CONSTITUTION:Constriction 22 fixed to base 1 performs breathing action with a flow path resistance, where air pressure in room 6 does not change excessively for external air pressure for temperature rise or fall in magnetic recording medium room 6, to make invasion of humidity in external air dependent upon dispersion into room 6 as small as possible. Constriction 23 fixed to base 1 limits flow of air between room 6 and moisture absorbent vessel 7 by the flow path resistance and functions to limit the quantity of absorbed water by moisture absorbent 8. Since humidity in room 6 is lower than that of external air by constriction 22 even if the quantity of absorbed water by the moisture absorbent is limited, the inside of room 6 is kept at a humidity within an allowable range. When excessive dehumidification in room 6 is suppressed by constriction 23, humidity invasion through constriction 23 dependent upon vapour pressure difference of humidity between room 6 and external air can be suppressed. Consequently, nonmaintenance and extension of the life of the magnetic storage device are realized.
