Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent dew condensation on the disk medium and the absorption phenomenon between the head and the medium in a magnetic disk device of an enclosed structure type, by controlling the temperature and moisture in the device within a constant range. CONSTITUTION:A temperature sensor 10 (thermocouple) and moisture sensor 11 (semiconductor type moisture sensor) are installed to the upper part of a cover 9 of an enclosed type disk device, and a pipe 12 is connected to the side of the cover 9 to form a closd loop. A cooler 13, a heater 14, and a dehumidifier 15 are connected in sereis on the midway of the pipe 12. The temperature and the moisture inside the device are controlled by a temperature controlling mechanism 16 and the dehumidifier 15, respectively.
