Abstract

PURPOSE:To know an amount of overflown exhaust gas simply, not being affected by composition, density or humidity of the exhaust gas, by sensing the overflow of the exhaust gas under basing on a difference between a measured temperature of the overflown exhaust gas and a standard temperature. CONSTITUTION:In a combustion instrument in which combustion is effected in a main body 1 and exhaust gas is exhausted out of an exhaust tube 2 together with air induced through an air inducing port 4 via an outer periphery of a reversed flow stopping plate 3, a temperature sensing element 10 is attached to an inner surface of the air inducing port 4 at the side of the exhaust tube 2 and another temperature sensing element 11 is attached to a certain place in a room for sensing the temperature of the room, further, a comparator 12, activating an index needle or a recorder by an output P as a difference between outputs of both temperature sensing elements 10, 11, is provided in order to sense an amount of the exhaust gas overflown from the air inducing port 4 when the exhaust tube is clogged. The amount of the overflown exhaust gas may be known by watching the output of the comparator 12.
