Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable fault detection to be readily, rapidly and surely done through remote operation by temporarily superposing an AD voltage to the DC voltage for operating a microwave oscillator thereby producing an artificial Doppler signal. CONSTITUTION:In case when detection of moving objects is made as, e.g., an intruder detector for crime prevention and in order to check the presence or not of its fault, a switch 17 is changed over to the pulsation generating circuit 16 side, by which pulsating voltage is applied to a microwave solid state oscillator 15. Then, the oscillation output of the microwave solid state oscillator 15 is amplitude-modulated by this pulsating voltage and therefore even if no intruder exists in the detecting space, the output signal of a mixer 2 comes to have AC components, thus becoming the same as the Doppler signal by an intruder. Hence, by amplifying this AC signal in a low frequency amplifier circuit 7 and subjecting the similar signal processing to that of ordinary Doppler signal, the detection output may be obtained.
