Abstract
PURPOSE:To make an accurate distance measurement by suppressing CW disturbing wave components by detecting the mean peak value of a noise from the output of a detecting circuit and then by applying it as a DC voltage to an intermediate frequency amplifying circuit for assuming gain control. CONSTITUTION:When an aircraft interrogator interrogates or responds to a ground transponder, a CW disturbing wave is superposed upon an interrogation signal, amplified by intermediate frequency amplifying circuit 1 and detected by detector 2. Mean-peak-value detecting circuit 5 detects the mean peak value of a noise from the output of detector 2 and its detection output is applied as a gain control voltage to intermediate frequency amplifying circuit 1 via OR circuit 6. In the output of detector 2, the CW disturbing wave component is suppressed greatly and only a pair of pulses are outputted as decoded signal pulses by pair-pulse selector 3.
