Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce the fluctuation width of fixing temperature in electrostatic recording apparatus, by applying the electric power to compensate for drop of fixing temperature due to heat absorption of recording paper, to a heating element at specified time.
CONSTITUTION: The fixing temperature is detected by a temperature sensor 21 provided in the fixing part. In order that the detected fixing temperature may be within the range of specified upper and lower limits, the heating electric power to a heating element 18 is controlled by feedback. Suppose the delay time from application of electric power to the heating element 18 till resultant appearance of fixing temperature rise is td, then the electric power to compensate for fixing temperature drop due to heat absorption of the recording paper is supplied to the heating element 18 about time td before the recording paper reaches the fixing part. Thus, the temperature drop due to heat absorption of the recording paper may be compensated at adequate timing, so that the fluctuation width of fixing temperature may be reduced.
