Abstract
PURPOSE:To balance the vertically moving column weight of a robot of automatic welding or the like by putting a wire, of which one end is fixed at one of a horizontal X direction guide and the other end suspends a weight by way of the pulley at the other end of said guide, on the respective pulleys on the crossing 3-axis direction moving members. CONSTITUTION:A base 2 movable in the X direction is supported to a horizontal X direction guide 1, a slide arm 3 movable in the horizontal Y direction thereon and a vertically movable column 4 at one end thereof. The root end of a wire 9 is fixed 9a to the guide end 1a and is put on subsequently on the pulleys P1-P7 supported on the table 2 left side arm 3 ends 3c, 3b, column bottom 4b, arm end 3b, base 2 and guide end 1b like the drawing. The X, Y portions thereof are made parallel with the X, Y directions and a weight 10 is suspended at its final end. As a result of this, the movement of the base 2 and arm 3 does not cause the weight 10 to move vertically and the vertical movement of the column 4 causes the weight to move vertically by twice the column movement amount. The weight of the column and its attachment balances with the weight in a weight.
