CONSTITUTION:The shell 22, being rolled and stretched by the plug mill, is fed into the reeling mill from the left side, and is rolled through the gap of two rolls 10, 12, of the reeling mill and the plug 24; and after the outer and inner surfaces of the shell 22 are polished, the shell 22 is moved to the right. Hereupon, if the outer diameter expansion force, to be detected by the load cell 20 installed below the lower guide shoe 16, becomes larger than the previously set specified value, the gap of the rolls 10, 12, is widened to reduce the outer diameter expansion force, and if, on the contrary, that becomes smaller than the specified value, the gap of rolls 10, 12, is narrowed to increase the outer diameter expansion force. This outer diameter expansion force is hardly affected by the temperature change of the pipe blank, so that the draft control for the reelihg mill excellent in the responsiveness and the reliability is made possible.
