Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance the volatile matter removing efficiency of the title apparatus by dividing the apparatus into upper and lower chambers and by setting centrifugal thin film system agitating vanes in each chamber of a rotary shaft piercing the two chambers to provide a good thin film forming action and a good surface refreshing action to a substance to be treated. CONSTITUTION:A substance to be treated is introduced into first chamber 21 from inlet nozzle 19 of body 11 having heating jackets 12a, 12b, and in chamber 21 it is pressed to the inner wall end made a thin film with upper twisting vanes 15a rotated by rotary shaft 13. At the same time, the substance is provided with a good surface refreshing action to evaporation-separate part of volatile matter such as residual monomer, and it is flashed to evacuated second chamber 23 with compression feed screw 14. In chamber 23 the substance is pressed to the wall with twisting vanes 15b, made a thin film, sent downward, and subjected to good surface refreshing to evaporation-remove the residual volatile matter. The volatile matter-free substance is then discharged from outlet nozzle 20 through draw-out screw 18.
