Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a high-reliability fault diagnostic unit of simple constitution by sending out at constant interval of time a fault diagnostic false signal with pulse width small enough for an electromagnetic actuator not to respond. CONSTITUTION:Each wheel speed signal Uw1, input signal to inlet valve 14 and output valve 19 of electromagnetic actuator Sin-1 and Sout-i of each wheel, is inputted to input signal modulator 23-1 by a fault diagnostic false signal (a) with pulse width small enough for an actuator not to answer and after modulation, the output signal is inputted to control circuit 24. Each control logic circuit 26-1 of circuit 24 receives reference wheel speed signal UR from reference wheel speed setter 25 and signal Uw1 and then sends the result of logical operation to the actuator, thereby operation signals (b1) and (c1) of valves 14 and 19. If some abnormality is found in signals (b1) and (c1), fault diagnostic unit 27 generates signal (m) indicating the fault to let alarm generator 31 know and the power supply to the control circuit is cut off. Consequently, the fault can be diagnosed without providing a signal cut-off unit and switching unit.
