Abstract
PURPOSE: To simplify the configuration of the circuit of the control unit for the electric motor vehicle by operating resistor used at the time of bracking the vehicle also as a charging resistor for a filter capacitor.
CONSTITUTION: When a swtich L1 is opened and brake converters B1WB3 are then thrown at the time of braking an electric motor vehicle, a filter capacitor Cf is discharged through a brake resistor RB. An electric current flowed through the resistor RB is interrupted via a chopper CH, and the interrupted current is smoothed through a filter capacitor. The filter capacitor is charged by closing the switch L1 to put the resistor RB into the charging circuit and then throwing a power converter P3 to shortcircuit the brake resistor. Thereafter, power converters P1 and P2 are thrown to form a power circuit to allow the chopper CH to control the speed of a motor A.
