Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce darkening of valve wall and prolong life by using electron radiating substance which is obtained by mixing yttrium oxide and lanthanum oxide with heatproof metal. CONSTITUTION:An electrode is formed by arranging a sintered body 2 on an electrode core wire 1. The sintered body 2 contains heatproof metal and yttrium oxide and lanthanum oxide in 0.2-60wt% for the heatproof metal, and lanthanum oxide is contained in 0.5-50mol% for yttrium oxide. When such electron radiating substance is used, darkening on valve wall is reduced, and long life can be obtained.
