Abstract

PURPOSE: To avoid wasteful operation of the pump by the method wherein a flow detecting means and a pressure detecting means are provided on a water supply pipe, and the pump is operated when the pressure signal from the pressure detecting means is smaller than the signal from the flow detecting means.
CONSTITUTION: Flow detecting means 9 and pressure detecting means 10 are provided to water supply pipe 3. The flow signal detected by the flow detecting means 9 is calculated by a pipe path pressure calculating means 11 having a pipe path loss pressure calculator 12, hydrostatic pressure setter 13, ejection pressure setter 14 and adder 15. Here, the pressure value which must be maintained in order to obtain the pressure required for the ejection side is calculated, and the result of calculation is compared with the pressure signal detected by the pressure detecting means 10 by a comparator 17. When the pressure signal is smaller than the result of the calculated, value, pump 4 is operated. By this way, it is possible to detect the range in which water can be supplied by the natural flow of water without moving the pump 4, thus wasteful operation of the pump is avoided.
